Exporting
It would be easy to share notes with all your classmates and colleagues if they used Pear Note, but that is likely not the case. Consequently, Pear Note allows you to export pieces of your Pear Note documents to file formats that can be used by those without Pear Note.
Exporting Text
You can export the text portion of your notes to either plain text files (.txt) or rich text files (.rtf). To do so, simply select Export->Export Text from the File menu, choose a file to save to, and select the format you'd like to save to. Note that rich text will preserve all formatting, while plain text will not.
Exporting Audio/Video
You can export the recorded audio or video (with audio) of a note as well. To do so, simply select Export->Export Audio/Video from the File menu, choose a file to save to, and select the format you'd like to save to. Supported formats include:
- QuickTime Movie - Audio Only (.mov): export the audio of the recording to a MOV file. Note that this will maintain the compression options of the currently recorded audio.
- AAC Audio (.m4a): export the audio of the recording to an MPEG4 file using AAC compression, producing a file similar to those created by iTunes.
- QuickTime Movie (.mov): export the video and (if present) audio of the recording to a MOV file. Note that this will maintain the compression options of the currently recorded audio. This option is only available if video is present in this note.
Exporting Slides
You can also export the slides in your notes to PDF files. To do so, simply select Export->Export Slides from the File menu, and choose a file to save to.
